Futon Repair

As I mentioned, the futon has a crack in it. On the other side of this cracked board is a groove that the rollers pass through, and also rest on, and the point where they rest is where most of the weight of the occupants is supported.

My plan is to get a 9x¾x14 block of wood and wedge it under the damaged piece, so the new block will be holding all the weight instead of the damaged one. Plus a couple screws and braces just to hold it in place. I’m considering reinforcing the other side the same way, even though it’s not damaged, to try to keep it that way.
