Well I finally figured out how to get the agitator out of the washer. That nut, that was attached to a bolt, that I couldn’t separate? I figured out why they wouldn’t separate. They were a single piece.
Once I unscrewed the whole piece, the agitator just pops out. And there’s nothing underneath but a shaft; it looks for all the world like the bolt just screws to the shaft and holds the agitator to it. I think all I need is to replace the worn out gasket we took off.
So, off to the appliance parts store.
